In progress and a bit of a relization...

This is a painting I started last night it is dedicated to my grandmother and granted she doesnt exactly look like a grandmother but it fits in its own weird way. What inspired me to paint about my grandma you ask? Well last night I was scrapbooking and listening to music and I heard a song, a song I have heard a million times but this time it made me think of my grandma and how much I miss going to her house when I was younger. Yes my grandma is still alive and kickin but she can't live in her home anymore and so I dont get to see her as much. Well when I heard this song it made me think of when I was younger and how much I loves going through her fabric and lace and buttons and always wishing I could sew just like my grandma could. My grandma was an amazing artist, she loved to draw and she loved to sew, she even made two of my prom dresses. I remember looking at her fabric like they were pieces of art and I am sure is why I have a huge box of fabric in the garage. This song made me think of her and made me miss her and therefore I felt the need to paint and so I did, it's not done yet so I will repost when it is.

And now a bit of a revalation/realization that I had last night.... I think I might be done scrapbooking for awhile... It's becoming a chore and something I somewhat dread, I have cards to make for a swap and I just DON'T WANT TO make them at all. What do I want to do? I want to paint, lately all I want to do it paint and I don't have any explnation for it but it is what it is. I love working in my journal I love making little paintings from cardboard and I loved creating something that came from my head and came out onto canvas. I don't know what this means or if it really means anything but it works and I am going to run with it. Thanks for letting me rant now I am so off to bed...

Woah time to update!

I have such a hard time commiting to this blog and I dont know why! I need to try harder, I have my art to share its just getting around to posting it!

Well this week I have been quite the busy bee I made 12 Twilight ATC's , 2 cupcake ATC's, a card, a small painting, and two journal pages and its not even the weekend yet!

November is Art everyday month and I am so going to try to do this and so far so good on Wednesday I made a little painting for a snail mail pal and because I loved it so much it inspired me to journal from it and go deeper into what the mini painting made me feel. In my journal page I was inspired by the blog ABC Creativity and the concept of setting a weekly intention well my intention for this week is to "Be Me" nothing crazy just something I need to work on so my intention for the week is to be me, and be the best "me" I can be!

Tutorial Tuesday well sort of......

Today I was just not inspired to make much of anything so therefore I have no tutorial for you BUT what I do have is a few great links to some amazing tutorials! Annnd some shots of some Halloween cards I just sent off in the mail today!

Now on to some cards I made on Sunday and I actually HATE giving them away for a swap cause for once I actually like them! The digi stamps are from The Greeting Farm.

Tuesday Tutorial Smooshy Flowers!

I love making paper and fabric flowers for layouts, cards, etc. So here is just one of the many techniques to make a smooshy paper flower!

What you need:
Thin paper (not cardstock)
Stapler
Scissors
buttons, gems, etc
circle punch

Ok to start punch out ten circles


Next stack all ten up



Then cut slits going all the way around the circle




Next unstack circles and restack (sounds silly but they are much flatter if you forget this step)

Then staple in the middle


Next take a deep breathe and start squishing your flower in your hand the more you squish the better it looks!



keep squishing your flower til you get the effect you want


I then dabbed some black ink on my flower, added a button and viola!

I have not posted here in sometime but that is going to change darn it! I am challenging my self to post at least 5 times a week so here goes nothing!

I Heart You mini album!

So I almost always give one hand made gift to Alli for just about every holiday and birthday and yes anniversaries too! This year I made a cute I <3 You album and I had such a good time scrappin it! All of the pictures are of myself and my lovely fiance Alli. These were our engagement photos which were taken in Beverly Hills! Anyways hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Just a quick hello to say Happy Val Day! I will spending my day with my fiance Alli and tonight we are going to the Melting Pot for dinner yum! I can't wait! Well here are two more cards from The Greeting Farm swap, I meant to post these awhile ago but things are crazy busy right now! Some cute cards!

These lovely cards are both made with digital stamps from The Greeting Farm! I love love the one of the boy and girl, I went to a late night crop with a friend and they had these adorable cards that you could make from their die cutters! I also just started embossing and well I am having such a good time experimenting with it! You can tell I used it on the love card, which I love! These are all for a swap on SCS, I hope who ever gets them enjoys them cause I had a blast making them! I have two more to show you tomorrow! so stay tuned!

School Stuff

I spent last night getting some of my school stuff ready and I always always decorate/scrapbook my binders, I still have one more to do but here is the one I finished last night!

Some more V-Day Cards.....

I think I may never make another V -Day card again! I had to make six and finally tonight I finished. My favorite is the pink and black I almost want to save it for my fiance.... but I won't! Keep your fingers crossed for me I am trying out for a Design team spot on Dirty Scraps if it happens it happens if it doesn't then it just wasn't meant to be! well I have lots more scrapbooking to do tonight, will be posting new stuff tomorrow!

Hello 2010....

Wow I can't believe it's 2010! Sorry for the lack of posts but life has been so crazy but finally I have some new cards to show! All are for a Valentine's Day swap on Splitcoast stampers! The goal was to use unusual colors not just the usual red white or pink and I think I did a pretty good job of that!
